BSEE cites BP, other parties over Gulf oil spill

The Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement issued environmental and safety citations against BP, Halliburton and Transocean for their roles in last year's Gulf of Mexico rig blast and oil spill. "To ensure the safe and environmentally responsible conduct of offshore operations, companies that violate federal regulations must be held accountable," said Michael Bromwich, BSEE director. The companies said they may appeal the citations.
