Intel abandons DTV chip business to focus on mobile devices

Intel reports that its Digital Home Group is shifting its engineering resources, moving away from the digital television business and refocusing on smartphones, tablet computers and Ultrabook-based laptops. Boxee, Comcast and Logitech use Intel chips in their set-top boxes, as does Sony in its TV sets; Intel will continue to support such customers.
