Study: Some states spend high on Medicare, have poor care quality ranking

Many states that spend the most on Medicare have the lowest quality of care, a new study says. States including Louisiana, Texas and California all spend high and rank low, and researchers say states with more primary care doctors seem to have higher quality care while spending less, possibly because those doctors are responsible for making sure patients have the most effective care.
