Mondelez International is deploying a smart display unit with sensors that can determine the age and sex of potential buyers and deliver targeted video ads. Videos will play if a customer looks at the smart shelf long enough, and weight sensors will detect whether a choice is made. "When people walk by, it's a missed opportunity. We must know how the consumer behaves in the store," said Mondelez Chief Information Officer Mark Dajani.
