Office Max, Office Depot walk a fine line to close merger

Office Max and Office Depot face a new challenge from Staples as they look to complete their merger by the end of the year. Staples announced last week that it will match the prices of online rival Amazon. If the merging chains say they'll do the same, they risk running afoul of the Federal Trade Commission, according business professor Laura Kozloski Hart, and if they don't, they risk losing holiday season sales to Staples.
