Nielsen reports big gain in online video consumption

Online video streams totaled 11.02 billion during September, a 24.8% increase over the year-earlier period, according to data collected by The Nielsen Co. The time viewers spent watching those streams also went up by 24.8%, to 195.2 minutes, and the average number of streams per viewer rose 11%, to 79.1 per month.
