Preemie survival rate increases lead to more retinopathy

Swedish researchers said more extremely premature babies are surviving, resulting in more infants with retinopathy. The study found gestational age to be a bigger risk factor for retinopathy than birth weight, with the risk declining by 50% for each week of gestational age at birth.
