Ontario officials likely to back down on risk-plan rules

Officials in Ontario appear ready to drop a controversial proposal that would have forced every propane dealer in the province to pay nearly $25,000 for a professional risk review. Companies would still be required to conduct reviews but could do so themselves by following an official template. A study for the Ontario Propane Association had found that as many as 1,400 propane retailers and distributors would have been driven out of business by the review's cost.
