JPMorgan's report signals an increase in corporate lending

JPMorgan Chase launched the quarterly earnings season by announcing a 1% increase in its outstanding commercial-banking loan portfolio. CEO Jamie Dimon noted that loans to "middle-market" companies were up 3% during the third quarter. There is indication that other banks also have increased lending, but issues remain with demand.
