Indian mobile subscriptions expected to top 800 million

Feature phones account for more than 9 in 10 Indian handsets, with mobile subscriptions projected to top 800 million by the end of the year, Gartner says in a report. Samsung is currently the most popular manufacturer, with a market share of almost half, recently topping Nokia. "The Indian mobile phone market is very competitive, with more than 150 device manufacturers selling devices to consumers," said Gartner analyst Anshul Gupta.
