Retention practices should be key focus as economy improves

Employers need to increase focus on retention practices, in particular zeroing in on high-performing employees with important skills, according to a survey by Deloitte. The company said that even though 80% of respondents indicated they intend to stay with their employer for the next year, that likely will change as the economy improves. Steps to retain employees include developing their skills, building trust in leadership and providing effective communication.
