With children back home, boomers delay downsizing

Boomers with boomerang children who had hoped to downsize their living arrangements are revising those plans, holding on to their larger homes to accommodate grown children who can't make it on their own. About 17% of Canadians have done so, according to TD Canada Trust's 2011 Boomer Buyers Report, which also found that about a third of boomers doubt they'll be able to pay off their mortgages before retirement.
