OPEI raises concerns on E15 for small engines

The Outdoor Power Equipment Institute, along with some manufacturers of outdoor power tools, said the partial federal waiver on the sale of E15 fuel will not protect users of landscape equipment. "We do not support the E15 approval in its current form -- a partial waiver," said Kris Kiser, OPEI president and CEO. "Ethanol damage is permanent and irreversible. It is not like running bad octane. Say you are a big landscaper and you send your crew out to fuel all of the equipment. If they get the wrong fuel, they can destroy every piece of equipment you own," he added.
