PG&E exec offers a glimpse of the utility's smart grid future

Pacific Gas & Electric is on track to reach its smart grid deployment goals in 2012 and already has 8.5 million of the devices installed, according to Kevin Dasso, senior director of smart grid and technology integration -- but that's just the groundwork. Dasso says the utility will push forward the rest of its $357 million Cornerstone Improvement Program by enhancing its distribution automation technology while also following through on two federally funded energy projects.
