Risk of difficult pregnancy higher with PCOS in Swedish study

Swedish researchers reported in the journal BMJ that women diagnosed with polycystic ovarian syndrome may have a higher risk of difficult pregnancies and deliveries. They found that women with PCOS also had a higher risk of pre-eclampsia and had twice the risk of developing gestational diabetes compared with those without PCOS. The findings were based on Swedish births between 1995 and 2007.
