The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation will host a forum this week on malaria called "Optimism and Urgency." The event will bring together global health leaders to discuss steps to be taken in the continuing fight against the disease. "Optimism" points to the successes so far in combating malaria, including the final trials in Africa of a malaria vaccine, and "Urgency" covers what still needs to be done to address the estimated 780,000 deaths from the disease annually.
