Duncan sends message to encourage, thank federal employees

Employees of the U.S. Department of Education returned to work Thursday after the 16-day federal government shutdown came to an end. Education Secretary Arne Duncan sent a message to employees acknowledging the amount of work it will take to get caught up on tasks, e-mails and projects. He also thanked the commitment of workers who continued on the job during the shutdown.
