Credit crisis forces banks to reprice risk

After the summer's credit crisis, banks are relearning how to price risk and bring investors back into the sector. The banks are also working with entities, such as financial regulators and SIFMA, to increase the levels of transparency and asset disclosure. "Securitization requires functioning capital markets," said Karsten Moller, head of Europe and Asia for SIFMA. "The industry is taking steps to identify those areas that could restore normal liquid market conditions."
