Businesses blame sign ordinance for slow traffic

Business owners in Norton Shores, Mich., say the town's sign ordinance governing electronic signs needs to be updated and that restrictions in the regulations keep them from reaping maximum returns for their pricey displays. Travel agent George Gasahl invested in an electronic sign when he opened eight years ago, but says rules limiting him to one message per day keep him from advertising all his agency has to offer.
