Systems Made Simple gets re-compete iEHR contract from VA, DOD

The Defense Department and Department of Veterans Affairs have selected Systems Made Simple to receive a re-compete of a deal for their integrated EHR program. Under the deal, the company "will provide systems integration and engineering support for executing the iEHR initiative," according to a statement from the Interagency Program Office. The contract tasks SMS with promoting interoperability between the agencies' systems, supervising the planning of a model that will be used in the integration and launching terminology translation services to ensure that VA and DOD data have the same format.
