Analysts envision the de-consumerization of the tablet PC

Nearly two out of every 10 tablet PCs sold in 2015 will be optimized for enterprise use, compared with 4% last year, according to Tom Mainelli, research director of Mobile Connected Devices at IDC. Mainelli says the trend will be driven by the "bring your own device" model that is gaining popularity at many companies. Early adopters include Motorola Solutions, which last week unveiled its Android-based ET1, an "industrial-strength" tablet designed for professional applications.
