Enterprise expands NGL capacity amid spike in shale-gas production

Enterprise Products Partners is expanding its natural gas liquids capacity to accommodate the increasing demand for ethane from petrochemical firms on the Gulf Coast, said Enterprise Products' Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer A.J. Teague. "Rising domestic NGL production from the shale plays has led to a cost advantage for the U.S. petrochemical industry favoring domestic NGLs over imported crude oil-based derivatives," said Teague in a statement.
