NASA, Japan create most complete digital topographic map to date

A topographic map covering 99% of the planet has been created by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration and Japan. Japan's Advanced Spaceborne Thermal Emission and Reflection Radiometer, carried by NASA's Terra spacecraft, captured images for the map, which NASA says can be used for purposes such as infrastructure planning.
