Florida teachers of gifted students can skip some lessons

Teachers and parents of some gifted students in a Florida district have won a battle to ensure that their students are challenged in the classroom. Officials have backed off an earlier requirement that made gifted students adhere to a strict curriculum and cover the same material as traditional students. Under the new rules, teachers may skip some material that gifted students already know.
