CBOE chief says a turf war between SEC and CFTC causes delays

William Brodsky, chairman and CEO at the Chicago Board Options Exchange, said the Securities and Exchange Commission and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission remain engaged in a turf war. He said the agencies worked together in the aftermath of the May 6 "flash crash," but they continue to battle for influence, resulting in unnecessary delays. "There's a level of cooperation now, but the underlying issues remain," Brodsky said.
