AT&T's Q3 revenues were buoyed by smartphones, connected devices

AT&T activated 4.8 million smartphones in the third quarter, more than half of them iPhones, the company reported. Mobile revenues were $15.6 billion for the quarter, an increase of 2.8%. The company's wireless business continues to be strong despite an industrywide slowdown, in part due to AT&T's focus on connected devices other than phones. The company activated 1 million connected devices during the quarter.
