Natural landmarks inspire design for Chicago tower

Chicago's $308 million Aqua Tower resembles a multilayer rock formation. Architect Jeanne Gang said she designed the tower to incorporate features reminiscent of the Grand Canyon and other national landmarks. The tower, the tallest skyscraper in the world designed by a woman, also features innovative weaving balconies and the city's largest garden roof. Inside, its features are luxurious but largely conventional, observers say.
