Maryland posts hospital bloodstream infection data online

The Maryland Health Care Commission is collecting data from Maryland hospitals on central line-associated bloodstream infections and making it accessible online as part of a nationwide program to control such infections. Data collected from July 2009 until June show that eight of 37 hospitals in the state had infection rates that were worse than the national average.
