Mobile devices increasingly popular for shopping across Asia

More than 4 in 10 shoppers in South Korea, Hong Kong and Singapore shop via their mobile phones, according to a new study by Visa. In Hong Kong, 13% of online purchases were made on phones, with an additional 11% coming on tablets. "The prevalence of smartphones and tablets translates to easier online access for consumers to retailers anytime, anywhere, and we expect to see more people browsing and shopping on-the-go as a result," said Paul Jung, Visa’s head of e-commerce solutions for Asia, Central Europe, Middle East and Africa.
