Study: Planning long-term care can save $11,000 a year

Making long-term care arrangements before a family member needs the care could save family members almost $11,000 a year in out-of-pocket expenses, according to a study by Genworth. Among family members who acted as the primary caregiver for a person requiring long-term care, 53% have lost income because they assumed those duties, the study found.
