Los Angeles officials approve $298B transportation plan

The Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority this week approved a plan aimed at improving public transportation and reducing traffic congestion. The $298 billion plan includes a subway extension and a variety of freeway improvements, among other things. Federal stimulus money and a sales tax will help fund the projects.
