Cleared BP Gulf drilling plan is first since spill to be approved

The Bureau of Ocean Energy Management cleared BP's revised plan to drill up to four wells in the Keathley Canyon region in the Gulf of Mexico. BP will be subject to stronger offshore-drilling rules implemented in the aftermath of the Gulf of Mexico oil spill, BOEM said. The company still must secure drilling permits for its project.
