AIA: Billings index hits highest point since February

The Architecture Billings Index in September reached its highest point in seven months with a reading of 54.3, indicating a continuing uptick in demand for architectural services, according to the American Institute of Architects. "The prolonged economic downturn that has affected the design and construction industry has actually resulted in the increased productivity levels as reported by architecture firms," said Kermit Baker, AIA chief economist.
