Commentary: Congress should focus on housing

The U.S. needs a comprehensive debate on housing policy that re-evaluates the housing-finance system and the balance between federal programs that support homeownership versus renting, among other issues, writes Julia M. Stasch, vice president of U.S. Programs for the MacArthur Foundation. This important debate should be near the top of the domestic policy agenda in Congress, but it looks to be stalled yet again.
