Publix will divest chain of c-stores and fuel stations

Publix Super Markets plans to sell PIX, a 14-unit chain of convenience stores and gas stations, to Circle K and Max Arnold & Sons. Circle K will acquire 11 stores in Florida and two in Georgia, while Max Arnold & Sons will purchase one in Tennessee. "The sale of PIX locations gives us the ability to remain passionately focused on our core business, our customers and the products and services we offer within our grocery-retail environment," Publix CEO Ed Crenshaw said.
