AT&T transitions traffic to full-mesh optical platform

AT&T has announced that its IP traffic has been moved to a next-generation IP/multiprotocol label switching, or MPLS, network that covers more than 80,000 fiber-optic wavelength miles. "AT&T has invested billions in the research, development and deployment of advanced technologies to ensure that we're able to stay ahead of our customers' demand for Internet and IP applications," said John Donovan, AT&T's chief technology officer.
