N.J. township manager is selected to head Fla. city

Fruitland Park, Fla., after being without a permanent administrator for 10 months, has hired Gary LaVenia as city manager, effective Jan. 6. LaVenia has served as township manager of Maple Shade, N.J., for three years. Fruitland Park interim City Manager Rick Conner says LaVenia is "a good fit."
