Weir plans to attend Sochi Olympics as NBC analyst

Olympian Johnny Weir announced on Wednesday that he will retire from figure skating and join NBC's coverage of the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi as an analyst. Weir, who is openly gay and who has spoken out against Russia's new anti-LGBT "propaganda" law, said he believes that setting a strong an example in Russia is a more powerful force for change than a boycott. "While this law is a terrible thing that you can't be gay publicly in Russia, I plan to be there in full support of our brothers and sisters there and not be afraid," Weir said.
