Analysis: Many corporate giants in U.S. have a zero tax rate

Despite complaints about America's 35% corporate tax rate, many household-name companies in the U.S. have found ways to get a zero tax rate, according to an analysis by USA Today. Among the global corporate giants included in the Standard & Poor's 500, 57 are paying effective tax rates of zero, the newspaper found. The Government Accountability Office says that in 2010, the average effective tax rate for corporations in the U.S. was 12.6%.
