Apple's iBeacon lets merchants track shoppers more closely

Retailers can already use GPS and Wi-Fi to track and reach out to customers within about 30 feet, but a new feature on Apple's iOS 7 gets even closer. Apple's iBeacon uses Bluetooth Low Energy to pinpoint the users' exact locations, allowing merchants to send coupons and highly personalized offers based on past purchases and preferences as well as location.
