Australian banana growers lose fruit to freckle fungus

Growers in Australia's Northern Territory, including an elected official, have had their banana trees destroyed in an effort to stop the spread of a fruit-killing fungus called Banana Freckle. "You've got to look at the big picture and if this can help to make sure industry is not going to be crippled by this disease, then you've got to do it," said grower and Member of Parliament Gerry Wood.
