Financial advisors' clients need help dealing with the new federal health care law, as well as Medicare, and there are several practical steps advisors can take to get the information they need, says Dr. Katy Votava of GoodCare.com, which addresses health care issues for advisors and consumers. "Pick up the phone and call the 800 number on HealthCare.gov and ask them who in your area is a 'navigator,' " she says. "Every state has community organizations available to talk to people face to face."
