L'Oréal is planning a sustainability initiative that it hopes will allow it to reach 1 billion new consumers by 2020. The strategy involves a dual focus on green business practices and on using L'Oréal brands to communicate green successes to customers. "We want to reach the next billion consumers while making a positive impact on the world," explains CEO Jean-Paul Agon.
