Starbucks, Dunkin' deals keep Green Mountain going strong

Green Mountain Coffee Roasters' patent on the K-Cup expired last year, but the company has made up for private-label competition through pod manufacturing for big companies such as Dunkin' Donuts and Starbucks. K-Cups accounted for $2.4 billion of $3.3 billion in revenue in Green Mountain's fiscal third quarter, which ended in June.
