New Dutch reactor anticipated for 2016

The Nuclear Research and Consultancy Group, operator of the High Flux Reactor in Petten, Netherlands, is planning to build a new medical isotope-producing reactor -- to be called Pallas. NRG expects full-scale isotope production at the facility, which would use low-enriched uranium, by the end of 2016. "Pallas has the capacity to be the world's largest producer of medical isotopes," an NRG spokesperson said.
