FDA: Food-safety managers make a difference

A 10-year study from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration shows companies that have food-safety managers have higher rates of food-safety compliance than companies that do not. "Some states and localities require certified food protection managers already, and many in the retail industry employ them voluntarily as a matter of good practice," said FDA official Michael Taylor. "We think it should become common practice."
