Google aims to Boost small business through local search

Google has launched an ad service designed to give small businesses a leg up in local searches. Google Boost, now in beta testing in three major markets, works with a business' Google Places account to return highly targeted ads in response to specific search terms, such as "San Francisco Chinese restaurants." Business owners set their keywords and spending limits, and Google automates the rest.
