Nursing group commends final regulations for ACOs

The American Nurses Association has praised the CMS for expanding the roles of registered nurses under the final rule for accountable care organizations. However, the organization has asked for more improvements that would recognize the importance of care coordination provided by nurses. "The changes between the proposed and final ACO rules reflect the positive influence nursing organizations can exert on the way health care is delivered in this country," ANA CEO Marla J. Weston said.
