Cruise lines to scrap fuel surcharges

Royal Caribbean International and Carnival Corp. have announced that they will discontinue their per-person, per-day fuel surcharges starting with new 2010 bookings. They will also reimburse some charges for 2009 cruises, depending on the situation. The cruise lines cautioned, however, that they would consider reinstating the surcharges if oil prices start climbing again.
