Pennsylvania's Monongahela River dam project jumps to $1.5B

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers said dam projects on the Monongahela River near Pittsburgh will cost twice as much as originally projected. The $750 million project now has ballooned to $1.5 billion after delays pushed back the completion date from 2004 to 2022. Locks and dams are "critically near failure" or "highly unreliable," said the Corps.
